OBO 34 ft Sailboat

in Vancouver, BC

$27,500

Seller note:

She's ALCOBRI. A 34ft Grampian fibreglass sloop built in 1974 in Oakville Ontario. In the days when fibreglass boats were built very strong. We think she moved to the west coast in the late 70's and my father in law bought her with a friend in mid 1980s. She's sailed the Gulf Islands all the way up the inside passage to Minstrel Island and thereabouts. She could probably find her way on her own from Saltspring Island to Nanaimo without you ever handling the tiller...She has a 35hp Isuzu diesel inboard, which produces a respectable 6.5 kts at 2000 rpm on about 2.5 liters an hour. The fuel tank is 94.5 ltrs so you can go a long way motoring (not that you would ever want to do that)2 mainsails (a very old and not so old one) with 3 reefs, a 135% genoa on furler and an asymetrical spinnaker. Very handy for light summer winds in the Gulf Islands. The 3 deck winches are all Barlow single speed. The mast has 2 single speed winches for halyards and reefing lines.New AC electric marine wiring and BlueSea panel, New dc panel - rebuild with marine plywood. new 20amp Xantrex battery charger, new Xantrex remote charger monitor, 2 new #27 house batteries (160ah capacity), 1 starter batteryNew galvanic Isolatornew 65 watt solar panel on swivel and mast,New voltage regulator for Solar Stainless rail mounted BBQ.2 x 20 pds propane tank with pressure meter3 burner propane gimballed ovenCAT bulkhead propane cabin heaterRaritan head and holding tank40 gallon fresh water tankNew stainless steel frame dodger. Electric and manual.New fresh water pump. New raw water pump for engine cooling. All new hoses on engine.New manual bilge pump exhaust hose.Complete rebuild on the engine in 2010New 50 amp alternator Brand New RayMarine autohlem (1500$). Installed last summer. We also have mast mounted Furuno radar (about 6 years old).A small Garmin GPS chart plotter. Of course the boat has a logmeter, depth sounder and windspeed vane. New masthead LED tricolor/anchor light with photosensitive switch. (draws less than 0.2amp)Oversized standing rigging was completely redone in 2008.So were all the halyards.Quite a few spare parts and hoses.Fenders, dock lines, 60 ft shore power cord. Dinnerware, cutlery, pots and pans.Bosun's chairThe boat sleeps 4 confortably (V-berth sleeps 2) Collapsable dinner table sleeps 2. Navigator berth sleeps one. And starboard bench would sleep one but without a cushion used for dinner table berth. On the first haulout after we bought her we did a complete sanding off of the accumulated antifouling paint and brought her back to gelcoat. A marine survey was done at that time to assess the hull for blistering (a common problem with older fiberglass boats) None was found. I then proceeded to prevent blistering ever by repainting the immersed part of the boat with 4 coats of epoxy paint. Hard as steel. With 2 coats of high end Micron antifoul. It has lasted till now. I am re-antifouling this summer.More interior photos
